"Petroleum Age Vessels" is a work of dada archaeology—collecting, documenting, cataloging present-day plastic bottles. The project explores the notion of one thing expressing itself as another thing—creating inverted meanings, confusion, questions. To wit, by isolating these "vessels" from their cultural context, hidden personae reveal themselves while allusions to incorrect, even ceremonial, uses arise.
